MALIBU SERIES
A fusion of 1920s charm, Mediterranean style with a Californian flair. By incorporating Talavera patterns alongside the hues characteristic of Santa Barbara and Spanish Colonial design, these tiles infuse contemporary homes with the timeless allure of California’s golden age.
Every tile is handcrafted in Mexico using traditional techniques that have been passed down through generations. Relief patterns are pressed or carved by hand before each tile is individually glazed and kiln-fired, creating rich texture, dimensional detail, and subtle variations that can't be replicated by machine-made tile.
Every handmade tile tells its own story. Expect natural variation in color, tone, brushwork, glaze application, relief depth, and surface texture throughout each batch. These characteristics are celebrated as part of the handcrafted process and create an installation with richness, movement, and individuality.
Because each tile is made by hand, slight differences in size, thickness, flatness, and pattern alignment should also be expected. We recommend a grout joint of at least 1/8" to accommodate these natural variations and achieve the best finished result.
Our glazed relief and handpainted tiles feature a kiln-fired glaze that creates a durable, easy-to-maintain surface suitable for both residential and many commercial applications. Fine glaze crazing may naturally develop over time on certain finishes and is considered a normal characteristic of handcrafted ceramic tile.
With proper installation and care, these tiles are designed to be enjoyed for decades.
