We’re Clay Imports - a passionate team dedicated to beautiful, handmade tiles and artisanal home goods. Based in Austin, TX, we work with talented makers to bring timeless design and craftsmanship to homes and spaces across the country. From custom tile to curated collections, we’re big on details, human connection, and providing a great customer experience from the first hello to the final installation.
About the Role
We’re looking for a Customer Experience & Service Associate to join our growing team! This is an entry-level role perfect for someone who loves helping others, thrives on clear communication, and is ready to learn the ins and outs of our unique products. You’ll be on the front lines of communication — handling emails, calls, texts, and chats with a wide range of clients, from homeowners to interior designers and contractors.
Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid – Remote + 1 Day/Week in North Austin Office)
Schedule: Full-Time, Weekdays Only (No Weekends)
What You'll Do
- Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries via phone, email, chat, and text
- Guide customers through our product offerings and help them find the perfect tile for their project
- Answer product-related questions, explain lead times, and support the ordering process
- Use tools like HubSpot and Shopify daily to track conversations, manage orders, and ensure a smooth customer journey
- Collaborate with sales, fulfillment, and design teams to solve problems and deliver an exceptional experience
- Learn the details of our handmade tile collections and become a trusted, knowledgeable resource for our clients
- Maintain a kind, professional, and organized approach, even when juggling multiple conversations
What We’re Looking For
- Based in Austin, TX and able to work in-office 1 day per week (North Austin)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized, self-motivated, and dependable
- Friendly, empathetic, and professional in every interaction
- Eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced, design-focused environment
- Comfortable using or learning CRM tools like HubSpot and ecommerce platforms like Shopify
- Previous experience in customer service, retail, or sales is a big plus, but not required
