Clay Imports x Haus of Meeshie

Redefining what modern tile design could be in a post-beige world

When Clay Imports and Haus of Meeshie crossed creative paths, sparks didn’t just fly. They exploded into a kaleidoscope. The result? A curated tile collection that fuses handcrafted design with Michelle Fahmy’s bold, maximalist aesthetic. Together, we composed a collection that captures the spirit of joy, nostalgia, and unapologetic self-expression. Expect punchy color pairings, with classic and trumpet-shaped tiles that invite you to play, mix, and remix patterns YOUR WAY.

A Shared Passion for Color and Play

We clicked immediately. The L.A.-based designer brought her signature blend of confidence and play to every sketch, conversation, and color test during her artist residency in San Miguel de Allende. Her upbringing in a color-rich Egyptian home instilled an early love for fearless pattern mixing; a love that shines throughout this collaboration. Powered by Clay Import’s craft-driven approach, turning bold ideas into even bolder tiles felt inevitable.

Inspired by Mexico’s Everyday Beauty

The inspiration behind the collection was born from the streets of Mexico itself. During a sunny afternoon in San Miguel, a roadside taco stand caught our attention, not for its food, but for its vivid oilcloth tablecloths, bursting with florals and neon hues. That moment captured the heart of what we wanted to create: a collection that celebrates everyday beauty and joy.

The result is a playful reimagining of color and pattern: rooted in tradition, made for modern spaces.

At the studio, Meeshie arranges tiles over vibrant Mexican oilcloths, mixing colors and patterns to explore playful, color-rich combos.

Color Stories by Meeshie

Each tile combination below was hand-curated by Haus of Meeshie, blending Clay Imports’ classic and trumpet-shaped tiles with bold, expressive color pairings. These palettes and layouts show just how versatile and personality-packed handmade tile can be, whether you’re designing a backsplash, bath, or bold accent wall.

Barro Matte & Americano

I love the bold simplicity of this pairing… It's my version of a neutral palette that can lean into so many different types of aesthetics (the earthy version of black & white).

Dragonfly & Burgundy

There is something that tows the line perfectly between the masculine and feminine here. Structured and sensual… this color combination is about to have a moment.
