Over the years, lots of our friends in the design community expressed frustration about “what’s out there” in the pool tile world. So we came up with numerous one-of-a-kind tile options customized to a designer’s needs in order to elevate swimming pools and fountains alike.
We garnered all our inspiration and knowledge in the tile industry to bring it up a notch: Meet the Clay Imports Pool Waterline tile collection!
Unlike conventional pool tiles, Clay Import’s tiles are hand-painted and customizable. We offer bold textured relief or smooth finish tiles. Learning from designers and architects alike, we designed these tiles to feature high gloss and shimmering colors, such as deep blue and stark white.
Like all our products, these tiles are handmade. Handmade tiles exhibit natural variations, which are inherent traits of natural materials like Terracotta. These variations in color, texture and sheen are not defects but rather a natural part of the product. We highly recommend ordering samples before making a final purchase to confirm and appreciate these natural variations in each tile.
These high-dense, high-fired clay body tiles are more resistant to damage from freezing conditions than regular clay tiles and unharmed by swimming pool chemicals. This product is resistant to swimming pool chemicals and freeze-thaw cycling. However, due to their clay composition, they’re not rated as pool tiles.
We fire the Swimming Pool Waterline Tiles at a much higher temperature than our standard Handmade Clay Tiles, which makes them more dense and less susceptible to moisture absorption.
If properly installed, this product will endure decades of use. For best results, follow our wet area installation guide. However, since Clay Imports Swimming Pool Waterline Tiles are handmade, expect patina and slight crazing. These characteristics are aesthetic and will not interfere with the integrity of the tiles.
Though our dense, high-fired clay tiles have been installed in fountains and swimming pools without any issues, we advise you to take extra precautions when installing these tiles in a submerged application.
Yes, you can install this product in a fountain. However, much like swimming pool waterline applications, expect patina and slight crazing.
