TALAVERA
Celebrate the vibrant legacy of Talavera tiles, a tradition rooted in centuries of cultural fusion.
Originating from Spanish colonial artistry and deeply influenced by Islamic cuerda seca techniques, Talavera tile marries Iberian precision with the expressive soul of Mexican craftsmanship. The result? A decorative art form that’s rich in story and bold in color.
Every Talavera tile is handcrafted by artisans in a region synonymous with tile artistry. Using locally-sourced red clay, our makers transform raw earth into ceramic canvases through a multi-step process that includes: Hand-cutting and shaping, careful screening of intricate patterns by applying vibrant glazes and finally, firing each piece in a kiln for durability and depth.
This artisanal process ensures no two tiles are exactly alike, making each installation truly one-of-a-kind.
Glazed clay tile is highly durable and designed to perform well in both residential and light commercial environments.
The glazed surface resists staining and moisture, making it suitable for kitchens, bathrooms, and other high-use areas. With proper installation and care, the tile maintains its appearance over time without the need for sealing.
