Cotto San Miguel Tile

In 2007, Clay imports Artesanal debuted Cotto San Miguel. This beautiful new product is made with regional clay found in Guanajuato and hand molded by the same master artisans that create our Talavera tile.

Like Talavera, each piece of Cotto San Miguel is an individual component with slight variations that creates a rich natural alternative to travertine and other stone.

First the clay is screened to granulate lime and other particles found in the in the clay. Then this natural resource is pressed into individual molds by hand and left to dry naturally before being kiln-fired to 1,200 degrees.

The result is a dense non-absorbent tile rich with natural earth tones and highlights that are timeless. Cotto San Miguel is ideal for interior and exterior applications because it has a non-skid surface that is easy to maintain with soap and water.

Available in 12"x16" and 8"x16" and the San Felipe pattern, our Cotto San Miguel line provides design options that allow many different looks. We also carry stair coping and pool coping to round out the design collection. And like our other natural products, Clay Imports Artesanal has our new Cotto San Miguel ASTM tested and certified to be RoHS-compliant to be free of lead.
